Who says cats are boring?

A good Saturday morning game of fetch.

Boise Golf Trip

The unique Hotel room we stayed in.

We loved the bathroom.

Last weekend we took a quick trip up to Boise. Some of our friends were able to get us a very cheap room at a very interesting new age hotel. The next day the guys went golfing, up in Payette, at an Idaho Power Tournament while the ladies went shopping. We ate at one of our favorite restaurants (Texas Roadhouse) as well as a new favorite (Pollo Rey), where we had some of the best fish tacos we have ever had. It was a short but neat trip and the guys ended up being very excited because they took second place in the tournament. It was a good time getting to know some more people and exploring a little bit more.

The weekend

Yumm...Last weekend we went to Mike and Abby's. While the guys went golfing Abby and I made Carne Asadas with authentic mexican beans and rice. They were so good. I must say it was quite interesting in the kitchen with Abby and I, you see we are both very indecisive people so it took longer then it probably had to. It went a little like this. Abby: How should we prepare the meat Amanda? Amanda: I don't know... what do you think? Abby: It doesn't really matter to me, however you want... You get the point. It was so nice to sit in their back yard which is making us anxious to get our own house. But all in all we had a blast and are really enjoying getting to know them.

I cut my hair!!! Yea it felt really good, even though summer is almost over ( I know I shouldn't of said it) I should have done it sooner. I realize it doesn't look that short but I cut over 6 inches off so it was much needed.

This last weekend Chris took me on a drive down to Clear Lake. Its very pretty down there in the canyon with all the orchards and the snake river. Above is a picture of a pear tree, I'm excited to take our parents down there so we can do some fruit picking. We ran into Chris' boss down there which was really random because our vehicles met down at a fish hatchery and nobody was there because it was after hours how crazy is that, anyway they suggested that we go to the visitor center and check out the 8ft sturgen.

I should have thrown in a paper dollar so you could get the jist of how big it really was because the way the picture looks your probably thinking I'm telling a "fish story"

Here is a pic of Chris and I standing in front of one of the many springs in this canyon. Even though it was hot out the air felt really cold from the spring. It is amazing how much water seemingly comes out of nowhere. I'm surprised the canyon wall doesn't cave in.

Our Whitewater Adventure

Some of the Rapids near the end of the Trip

Our guide friend Rich (white shirt), Abby (pink), Micah (chowin down doritos), and myself

Some other rafters that we followed down the river

Yesterday we went rafting down the Snake River near Hagerman, ID. We went with our friends Mike and Abby, as well as, some new ones; Rich, Candi and Micah. Rich was our guide which we were all right with until he told us he had never actually guided on this stretch of the river and never guided the type of raft that we were using. However, we did pretty well considering half of the party were noobies. Micah was the only one to fall out, even though most of us had instances where we thought we were goners. We took the seats out of the center of the raft and stradled the sides with one leg in the water to paddle better. However, Amanda learned that next time it would be better if she did not put lotion on her legs prior to going. She was sliding all over. Our pictures are pretty poor because it is dang near impossible to take pictures while going down the river. Regardless, it was loads of fun and we are already planning on taking a trip up north of Boise on some tougher rapids.

Our Latest Trip to Yellowstone

The Lower Falls

Kevin and his Pretty Purse

The Orange Bacteria Mats that come from the Hot Springs

A Hot Spring

Bullwinkle
A couple weekends ago we took a trip to Yellowstone and met Chris's parents and brother there. We stayed in West Yellowstone Friday and Saturday nights and on Saturday we took a tour on the South Loop of Yellowstone National Park. Our tour guide was a little crazy, but very funny and he made the trip more entertaining, even though Yellowstone needs no help entertaining. We ran into a couple from Holland who got the pleasure of seeing a bear in the early morning hours, however their luck did not carry over to us. Athough, we did see plenty of elk and bison, as well as the lone moose. We had a great time with the family and the park is always amazing.

Stacey's Trip to Twin Falls

Hiking up to Baker Lake

Lucky Michael (too bad we can't all be cute without clothes)

Two monkeys in a tree

Our picnic in the mountains

Cooling off in the pool

So like three months ago my sister and her family came to visit us in Idaho. (ok more like three weeks ago, we're just really late on posting) We had a lot of fun with them and the trip always turns up to be too short. Chris and I loved seeing the kids and loved giving them back at the end of the week :P They were here over the Fourth of July so we watched the fireworks and tried to do as many things as we could outside, even though most of the week was very hot. The pool was extremely refreshing and I believe that we used it daily. We also did some hiking in the mountains and found some time to visit the Shoshone Falls. Stace and I did lots of shopping thanks to Chris watching the kids. Time to go eat some grub.

Love,
Chris and Amanda
